I am currently working as an independent consultant for Titan Industries/Tanishq. The company is working on a roll-out of jewelry retail stores in the US and I am advising them on quality standards, merchandising and design. By training I am a product designer, metallurgist, gemologist and jeweler.In 2004 I started my own consultancy business with a core competency in platinum applications. Since April I have been spending half of my time in India and the rest in the US and Europe. Born in Germany,German is my first language (but I am US citizen now). Naturally I also speak English, some French and lousy Japanese. I have lived in Germany, France, UK and Japan and I am relatively new to everything Indian. My hobbies are classical music, dance, botanics, cooking, art, reading and everything Apple (computer).

I have relocated to Bangalore with Target Corporation to help continue development of our training programs for Target India. My first assignment is for 12 months starting in November of 2007, and is renewable for 6-12 more months. Similar to being an expat, I was a Rotary foreign exchange student in Helsinki, Finland (while in high school) and I've also lived in the beautiful islands of Hawaii for 11 years. I love to live in other areas than Minnesota (obviously), and that is what attracted me to India. Besides training, I am also writing a series of books on life balance (www.balancefactor.com), so I am interested in traveling to more countries, meeting more people, and writing about my experience!

I have only ever lived in the UK, so this is a totally new experience for me. I only really speak English (although can speak a little bit of French, and am trying to learn some Hindi). My hobbies are scuba diving, skiing, keeping fit, golf, rugby, football and travelling.

As you can probably guess, I enjoy travelling, experiencing new places and people. I am originally from Finland and speak Finnish as my native language.
