River Rafting Adventure, Cauvery River (Picture Gallery)

Bangalore Expatriate Club members went to Bheemeshwari for a day of river rafting amidst the thick forest preserve of the Cauvery Wildlife Sanctuary. The club used a well known tour operator in Bangalore to conduct the day long trip on a Sunday. Rafting typically involves getting very wet with some olympic-style-synchronized-paddling by all team members under the supervision of strict Nepali guides. This team effort helps the boat go in many other paths instead of the intended one. Apart from the rafting, some members tried jumareeing (a form of painful tree climbing), net-walking (which once you are in it is impossible to get out of), frenzied swinging and other visually painful pursuits to make up for the alcohol and/or sleep deprivation the night before. But as Silas often said, "pain is good."
